Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, or simply not feeling content in your life, individual psychotherapy may be right for you. Sessions will often involve the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), or other appropriate modalities that are best suited to your individual needs and that will help reach your counselling goals.

Couples Counselling

Often times, couples are at a loss of how to communicate with one another and end up feeling disconnected, misunderstood or neglected in their relationship. Couples counselling can help partners learn how to effectively communicate their feelings and desires, address conflicts, and build/repair trust to ultimately strengthen their relationship and build a strong foundation moving forward.

Family Therapy

Grief and loss, separation, divorce, a move or change in living situation, or other life challenges are just some of the struggles that family members can face. Family therapy can be a great avenue for all members of the family unit to feel heard, understood and express their needs while working towards conflict resolution and problem-solving in a safe, guided environment.

Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy

Mindfulness-based psychotherapy focuses on increasing a person’s conscious awareness of their thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and surrounding environment in the present moment, without judgement. Practicing mindfulness can help a person to learn more adaptive ways to cope with a difficult situation and reduce their stress over time to live a healthier and more peaceful life.

Hello,

I’m Katie Lacelle (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) dedicated to supporting individuals aged 12 and above. My primary goal is to create a warm, empathetic, and non-pathologizing space where you can feel heard, understood, and valued.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies from Nipissing University, and a degree in Early Childhood Education from Canadore College.

I offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy, working collaboratively with neurodivergent clients and their families to honour their unique experiences and strengths. As a neurodivergent individual (ADHD and Autistic) and parent of neurodivergent children, my lived experience and training helps bring understanding and empathy to my practice, ensuring a compassionate and informed approach tailored to their needs and those of their families.

I also work with all individuals in areas such as attachment, parenting, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I aim to empower you to tap into your strengths, explore your story, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth.

I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for individuals of all backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of colour, and other minorities. I strive to be culturally competent and welcoming, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.

I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey towards healing and resilience.

I graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and am currently completing my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) through Yorkville University.

My 10+ years of experience as a Senior People Leader inspired me to change professions and pursue a career in the mental health field. I am committed to creating a space of warmth, openness and non-judgment and strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable and supported to be uniquely you.

My name is Jessica Savage and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Laurentian University, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Addictions & Mental Health from Ryerson University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have also had the pleasure of supervising new professionals in the field, including Masters-level students as they begin their careers as licensed professionals.

I am passionate about mental health and wanted to give people of all ages a safe and welcoming place to receive help. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or are simply feeling overwhelmed, you do not have to go through it alone.

I use a variety of modalities in my psychotherapy practice, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and much more. It is important that everyone receives individualized care and together, we will determine an approach that best suites your needs and counselling goals.

I applaud anyone who participates in mental health services because taking that first step is not always easy. I hope to rewrite the narrative from “I have to be OK”, to “It’s OK to not be OK sometimes”. My goal is to help my clients feel strong, confident and become the authors of their own lives!

Hi there!

My name is Kaitlinn Shaw. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW). I welcome clients of all ages and diverse life paths, but in particular children and youth as well as 2SLGBTQ+ folks. I have experience in helping with a broad range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, focus and attention, self-esteem, sexuality and gender exploration, social relationships, trauma and post-traumatic stress, suicidality and self-harm, dissociation, life transitions, and existential issues (identity, meaning, purpose).

Together, we can determine which approaches are best given your needs, but some of my favourites that I have the most experience with are arts-based, mindfulness-based, emotion-focused, attachment-based, and cognitive-based approaches. Above the modality, I value principle-guided psychotherapy and building a strong, non-judgmental, compassionate, and supportive relationship with the people I get the privilege to work with.

I believe that you are the expert of your own experiences, and I am grateful to be able offer you my skills while sitting with you through change, learning, healing, or whatever is bringing you to meet with me. I encourage change that emerges from understanding your experiences rather than fighting with yourself. It is this understanding and self-compassion that increases our ability to work through past experiences, manage difficult emotions and thoughts, improve our connections to others, and to make important life choices.
